WELCOME TO VALE

Vale: The Homeworld of the Elves
The Vale Effect Series is set primarily on the planet Vale, a solarpunk-inspired world that blends magical and technological advancement with a reverence for natural beauty. The heavily protected planet is the ancient homeworld of the Valen elves, a race of tall, green-skinned beings with pointy ears, plant magic, and a fierce disdain for anything that violates the natural order. Architecture on Vale blends seamlessly with the landscape, with stryders hovering harmlessly over grassy greenways and vine-covered buildings that are literally covered in vegetation—inside and out.
The elves come across as an enlightened and peace-loving race, but don’t let their beauty fool you. With sharp retractable claws, fanged teeth, and a diet of mostly protein, they are true predators through and through. Their pacifism is a choice, not a limitation—and when provoked, their instincts are anything but gentle. Something Taylor knows all too well.
Meet your Main Characters

Taylor Grey
Taylor Grey is a talented human thief with a deadly secret: she’s the only human known to wield magic. Hunted by the elvish scientists who created her (and killed her mother), she survives by stealing from the powerful and staying one step ahead. Desperate to buy safe passage and a new life off Vale, a dangerous heist pulls her back into a tortured past and deep into a conspiracy that only threatens her life further. Smart-mouthed, resourceful, and fiercely loyal to the few she trusts, Taylor isn’t your traditional hero. But some secrets won’t stay buried—and neither will she. Even if she wishes she could.

Eiran Valtir
Eiran Valtir is a Valen spy with a disarming charm and a ruthless reputation for doing whatever needs to be done. Scarred by past failure, he’s devoted his life to stopping the dangerous human terrorists threatening his homeworld. But when his mission leads him straight to a beautiful human thief with a mysterious past and the key to everything he’s been chasing, he’s forced to question everything he thought he knew. He wasn’t supposed to trust her. To care. Rules keep him safe. But he’s quickly discovering that sometimes… rules are made to be broken.
